Parma, 10 September 2019 – Cagliari will be the next opponents for Parma with kick-off at 15:00 CEST on Sunday 15th September at the Stadio Tardini. Let’s get to know our opponents more with our focus.

With Rolando Maran
on the bench from last season, Cagliari were active in the transfer market over the summer.  Central midfielder Nahitan Nandez joined from Boca Juniors alongside Radja Nainggolan from Inter in the same position and Marko Rog from Napoli. Furthermore, the forward Giovanni Simeone came in from Fiorentina and the left-back from Luca Pellegrini from Juventus (he was on loan at Cagliari last season, but from Juventus) and the goalkeeper Robin Olsen signed from Roma.

In the first competitive match of the season, Cagliari beat Chievo 2-1 in the Coppa Italia. In the league, Maran’s side have lost both of their games. In the first in Sardinia, Cagliari went down 0-1 to Brescia before losing the second fixture at home to Inter by a 1-2 scoreline. In the last match, this was the Cagliari side: Olsen; Pisacane (75’ Castro), Ceppitelli, Klavan; Nandez, Rog, Nainggolan (85’ Cigarini), Ionita, Pellegrini; Joao Pedro, Cerri (46’ Simeone).

So far this season, Cagliari have had. 16 shots on total with half of them being on target.  They’ve had 97 clear attacks with an average possession of 26 minutes per match. The players who’ve had the most shots have been Alberto Cerri and Joao Pedro with three each. The players who’ve featured the most so far have been Ragnar Klavan, Joao Pedro, Luca Ceppitelli and Nahitan Nandez with 198 minutes played.

Parma faced Cagliari in the 2018/19 season. The first match saw the Crociati win 2-0 and it’s a game that will live long in the memory. After Inglese opened the scoring, Gervinho scored the famous goal when he started his run from inside our half. In the second meeting, Parma were beaten after Kucka opened the scoring only for Pavoletti to turn it around with his two goals.
