IACOPONI AFTER H. VERONA 3-2 PARMA: “WE’RE UPSET ABOUT THE RESULT, WE NEED TO BE MORE STREETWISE TO PICK UP POINTS”

Verona, 1 July 2020 – Interviewed by Sky Sport, Parma defender Simeone Iacoponi had this to say about this evening’s match against Hellas Verona: “It’s a shame” – said the Crociati number 2 – “because we managed to go ahead, then in the second half we got back into the match and we tried to win it. Unfortunately some moments, which I’m not here to talk about, didn’t go how we wanted and therefore we didn’t even get a single point, which would have been important. We like the compliments but they don’t make a difference. We need to be better and more streetwise and we need to get points on the board because they are what matter in the table. The penalty? I think that the images speak for themselves, I’m not going to talk about it. Regarding the goals conceded, like what took place against Inter, we made mistakes, we were punished and we need to try and limit these errors because in Serie A you don’t get away with them. We need to be more streetwise when we have chances to finish the game. We’re satisfied about what we’ve done and what we are doing, we can still draw satisfaction from this and we need to continue along this path we are taking.”
