Parma, 1 December 2019 – “There was regret in the changing room after the match, we need to manage these kinds of games better.” This is what Luigi Sepe had to say following today’s defeat at home to Milan. The goalkeeper continued: “Last week, we needed to aim to not concede against Bologna, while it was the same case against Milan today. With a bit of luck and intelligence this 89th-minute goal could have been avoided. The game was in the balance. They had a number of chances but we created a few opportunities in the first period. They did better than us in terms of taking the opportunity they got and were slightly more fortunate too. We must feel regret and work harder.
“We were playing a really strong side today. It’s true that they’re below us in the league, but they started the season with different ambitions compared to us. It can be a struggle in certain games, while in others this is perhaps not the case. It was a really difficult match because they had many excellent players on the pitch. Nevertheless, we were in the game until the 90th minute, and therefore I think we did well. The result is a real shame.
“We need to focus on working until the 95th minute, right until the referee blows his whistle. We need to pay attention in the final minutes because it’s costing us points. We take it game by game, now we need to think about Frosinone. Then Sampdoria will be on our minds. We need to keep working in the same way, one which has allowed us to achieve big results up to this point. I’m sure we’ll get more on the board if we carry on in this manner.”
Is this a different Parma side compared to last year? “Parma have competed with everybody apart from against SPAL in Ferrara, when we played poorly and have to take the blame. Parma are a side that can cause problems for everyone, but we need to fight until the 95th minute because otherwise losses could come against anyone.”
