Parma, 21 June 2019 – The Serie A season came to an end a few weeks ago after Parma Calcio secured their top-flight status. For years, Parma have been supported by the Cetilar brand from PharmaNutra, first as the Medical Partner before they became Main Sponsor in 2017/18.

After three historic promotions, staying up was the club’s main goal in order to reach a historic milestone in Italian football. It was no easy task considering that two out of the three newly-promoted teams had been relegated straight away in previous years as it’s a real step up.

Parma enjoyed a positive start, picking up a first win of the season away at Inter before a run of victories on the road in Florence, Turin, Genoa and Udine. Thanks to the team’s ability to overcome difficulty, Parma were never in the relegation zone all season and Serie A status was mathematically secured on the penultimate day.

It was a vital step as the Club aims to reestablish itself in Serie A. The objective met cannot be taken for granted and it was vital as the Club continues with its development after rising from Serie D. Once again next year, Parma will play with heads held high and a desire to keep improving while gracing biggest stadiums in Italy.

At the end of the season, Parma Calcio CEO Luca Carra spoke: “Another season is over, it’s truly wonderful to celebrate another landmark with Cetilar who have been the Main Sponsor for the past two years but a partner of Parma Calcio for many years. Together, we overcame obstacles, enjoyed great moments and reached our goals. All the while sharing values and ideals about our team and its traditions. The relationship with Cetilar is based on professionalism, shared intentions and a serious approach. Because of this, we are truly happy to toast another adventure.”

Carlo Volpi, COO PharmaNutra “It’s the final confirmation for a relationship that began ten years ago as the Medical Partner with the link with Parma Calcio 1913 and our company becoming closer. We’re proud to have been alongside Parma for the return to the most prestigious league thanks to results earned on the pitch and to be associated with all that the Club has represented in Italian football over the past 30 years. We all look proudly at the many sports science initiatives that have emerged alongside the medical staff such as the Scientific Congress for sporting directors that takes place every year at the Stadio Tardini. These recent years have been important in consolidating and sharing numerous initiatives within local sport. One of these is our partnership with Dallara for the Cetilar Racing motorsport team and relationship with CUS Parma for the Cetilar Run event which is now in its sixth edition with over 2,000 participants.”
