Collecchio, 31 December 2018 – Pietro Pizzarotti has recorded a video (in Italian – see below) in which he extends his best wishes to all Parma supporters on behalf of the club as 2018 comes to a close. In the video, Parma’s President also took the opportunity to look back at what has happened since the club’s rebirth in 2015. The path Parma have taken has seen a lot of monetary investment, hard work and unforgettable moments, and there has been blood, sweat and tears along the way. It is a path in which a strong bond has been forged with a team that represents a whole area and community.
Three and a half years have passed since the club was reborn on 27 July 2015, when the FIGC gave the go-ahead for Parma Calcio 1913 to come into existence. The results the team have achieved – including the historic feat of three consecutive promotions – are spoken about by President Pizzarotti. However, he also wanted to mention the off-field success the club has had: this includes the opening of our museum (Museo del Parma Ernesto Ceresini), regaining the rights to the trophies we won under our previous guises, our direct shareholding structure (Parma Partecipazioni Calcistiche) as well as the important work that has gone into restructuring our Youth Academy following bankruptcy. Furthermore, the Parma Academy has come into being, the Collecchio Training Centre has been acquired (it is now owned by the club and not a third party for the first time in our history), while there has also been renovation work done at the Stadio Tardini. And that’s not all: we have invested in our website and social media output (our content is now published in English) and have immersed ourselves in the world of eSports, while the Parma Store at the Tardini and our online shop continue to grow.
“All of this,” said the Parma President, “has been achieved together with our supporters, with their passion having underpinned everything we’ve done. I would like to thank all those who have made it possible from the bottom of my heart. A new year is now set to begin, and we’ll be looking to show the same commitment and passion towards this club, these colours and this community. We hope that it will be a year full of happiness for all our fans and everybody involved with the club. Above all, we hope it will be a year full of love for Parma.”
