Parma, 31 January 2019 – The history of matches between Juventus and Parma Calcio in Turin will start afresh on Saturday night on matchday 22 of the Serie A TIM season. There have been 24 previous meetings there, eight of which ended with us claiming useful results.
Five of those were draws while three were wins.
Ahead of our next trip to face the Old Lady, let’s look back to 9 May 2010. It was the penultimate game of the season, we were a newly-promoted side this year and we enjoyed an excellent campaign, finishing eighth.
Our 2-3 win may have only been by the one goal, but in reality it was more comfortable as the hosts only got one back as a consolation in stoppage time.
The Juventus goals were scored by Vincenzo Iaquinta in the 93rd minute and Alessandro Del Piero who opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a shot from the edge of the area that left Antonio Mirante with no chance.
However, our forward Davide Lanzafame pulled us level and then ahead with his goals in the 20th and 35th minutes.
First, one of his efforts from outside the box took a deflection off Giorgio Chiellini. For his second, he converted on the break after the ball ricocheted off Gianluigi Buffon who attempted to close Hernan Crespo down.
It was current Crociati man Jonathan Biabiany who put the cherry on the cake, taking advantage of the space left open by the Juventus rearguard.
