Parma, 6 September 2020Parma Calcio mourns Gianfranco Migliazzi, who passed away today, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family.

All of Parma Calcio (ownership, board, technical staff, players, support staff and employees) are with Miglio’s family in this sad moment.

A minute’s silence was observed ahead of today’s friendly against Empoli at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Gianfranco was a lifelong Crociati fan and one of the key figures in our Club’s century-long history.

A local Parma businessman and an avid football fan, especially of his hometown team, Migliazzi was the symbolic managing director of our team. A role that he took on with immense passion for twenty years, from the arrival of president Ernesto Ceresini (in the 10976/77 season) to 1995.

He made an important contribution to three promotions to Serie B (1979, 1984 and 1986), the historic promotion to Serie A in 1990 and the conquest of our first trophies, the Italian Cup in 1992, the Cup Winners’ Cup and the European Super Cup in 1993, the UEFA Cup in 1995.

Migliazzi also occupied a key role in terms of sponsorship of Parma Calcio until the 80’s. It was him, and his company, who was always close to our Club, even in our period of rebirth and return to Serie A.

Goodbye, Gianfranco!
