Collecchio, 11 September 2020 – Parma Calcio are delighted to announce that Alessandro Lucarelli will be taking over as Vice Sporting Director.

On the pitch, he broke records in the number 6 jersey for the Crociati, a number which the Club went on to retire when Lucarelli hung up his boots in 2018 (the first time this was done in Parma’s history.) Now, after two seasons as Club Manager and having obtained a diploma in sports management at Coverciano, Lucarelli will now take over as Sporting Director Marcello Carli’s right-hand man.

Alessandro has always brought something extra to the Club,” remarked Pietro Pizzarotti, President of Parma Calcio 1913, “both in the personality and charisma that he brings to the table, and in the love that he shows for this Club and the people of Parma. Now, he will be embarking on a new adventure: we’re certain that he will be able to make an important contribution and that he will provide invaluable experience when assisting the Sporting Director, while his desire to grow, to learn and give it his all for these colours will also bring benefits.”

I’m sure that Alessandro will be important for the Club and the work that it’s doing,” commented Marcello Carli. “As I’ve already seen in these first weeks, he’s got lots of desire, and his experience will be an important asset as he starts this new adventure. I’m really happy to be able to depend on him and I’m sure we’ll do a great job together.

“I’d like to thank Parma Calcio for putting their faith in me. The Parma jersey is like a second skin for me,” declared Alessandro Lucarelli. I’m proud to be able to continue my personal growth in this great family. I’m completely on the same page as Sporting Director Carli and in the first few weeks I have been feeling really great about it. It will be a fantastic adventure for me, and I’m ready to give it my all, as I’ve always done, for the Club, the city and for the fans.
