Parma, 15 September 2020 –The Serie A Tim 2020/21 season is about to begin. Our first fixture is onn Sunday 20 September as we welcome Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli to the Tardini for the lunch-time kick-off (12:30 CEST). Let’s take a closer look at our upcoming opponents.


Napoli ended the last Serie A campaign in sixth position with a total of 62 points (18 wins, eight draws, twelve defeats). Gattuso’s side did manage to pick up some silverware, however, beating Juventus on penalties in the Coppa Italia. Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik was the club’s top scorer on eleven.


Napoli have brought in a few players over the summer: Victor Osimhen from Lille, Amir Rrahmani from Hellas Verona and Andrea Petagna from SPAL. Allan has left the club, linking up with Carlo Ancelotti and Everton in the Premier League.


Napoli spent their pre-season summer camp in Abruzzo – Castel Di Sangro, where they played their first friendlies: the first was a three-way fixuture against L’Aquila and Castel Di Sangro, which they won 11-0 and 10-0 respectively. They then beat Ternana 4-0 before another 4-0 win, this time over Pescara at the San Paolo.


The most recent meeting between the two sides was at the Tardini and finished 2-1 to the Crociati, who took the field with the following line-up: Sepe; Darmian, Dermaku, Bruno Alves, Pezzella; Grassi (63′ Barillà), Brugman, Kurtic (75′ Iacoponi); Karamoh (63′ Inglese), Siligardi (59′ Kulusevski), Caprari (75’ Gervinho).
