Parma, 4 October 2020 – Here is what Crociati Coach Fabio Liverani had to say after Parma’s win over Hellas Verona.

“We’ve been on a journey during which there was a change in ownership, sporting director and coach in the space of 20 days, also with some players coming and going. This had an impact on being able to work smoothly, particularly in a strange season like this. However, the team has both the technical and personal skills to do well and to get a win here today is definitely a big positive for me.

“It is difficult to manage in Serie A. We knew that Verona was this type of team, playing man to man and looking to attack. We scored before they then had a number of chances. However, we continued and then had opportunities through Kurtic, Karamoh and Brugman. I think it was a great match for the neutral, with both teams fighting for a result. Today, it was us that came out on top and I think it was a deserved win. Even though we struggled at times, we managed to see the game out.

“Karamoh and Gervinho are two atypical attackers. We were struggling as Cornelius was available but hadn’t trained all week. Inglese wanted to play but he wasn’t fully fit. The aim is to avoid relegation. I am not a Coach that sits back. I want to get the best from my team. I think that the squad is important and it has been completed thanks to the arrival of some players. I think it is possible to see 22-23 top-level players that can all compete for a starting position.”
