Parma, 8 October 2020 – Yordan Hernando Osorio Paredes, a defender born in 1994, was one of Parma’s recent summer signings.

He began his career in Venezuela in the youth ranks at Zamora FC, with whom he made his professional debut in 2014. He went on to make 84 appearances and score five goals with the club, before making his way to Portugal to join Tondela in 2017.

He made 26 appearances and scored three goals during his first European adventure before being snapped up by FC Porto.

In 2018/19, he left the Dragões on loan to join Vitória de Guimarães (27 games, two goals) and then spent the next season with Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg (seven appearances). Osorio won the league and cup Double with Zenit.

Osorio also has experience of international football. Until now, Yordan has played ten times for the Vinotinto, one of which came in a 2019 Copa America clash with hosts Brazil (0-0).

Yordan is not the first Venezuelan to don the Crociati jersey: before him came striker Manuel Arteaga and defender Rolf Feltscher (born in Switzerland but a naturalised Venezuelan).
