Parma, 7 November 2020Coach Liverani had the following to say after this evening’s match between Parma and Fiorentina:

“I’m satisfied, we’re now more of a unit compared to our first few matches, while we’ve returned to where we need to be on a mental level. We’re coming out of an emergency situation and now have 15 days to work and build something. Today, we’ve seen some new players who haven’t even trained with us, and they did brilliantly. The old guard are helping the newcomers, so I think that we can become a strong side once we get into full swing.

“Hernani has played a lot, more than everyone else. He played three matches last week, so he did OK. Sohm did very well when he came on, while Osorio responded excellently and allowed us to rest Iacoponi, who has recently been involved in three fixtures. The great thing about this team is that we could have many starters once these next 15 days are over.

“We knew that a triple-header against Inter, Fiorentina and Roma would cause us problems, but the team are responding excellently, producing solid performances and picking up points. We’re growing. After Roma, we’ll be coming up against teams in and around us, and we hope that we’ll have become more competitive when we enter that period. We’ll see how much this team grows over the first half of the season.”
