Parma, 19 November 2020 – Parma’s new signing, Swiss national Simon Sohm, attended a press conference at Tardini.
Here is what he said:
“For me, this experience represents the next step in my career, I believe that I am in an excellent club, with great teammates. I think that I am a midfielder through and through, because I can play in defense and attack. I think that I’m a player who can bring stability to the team.”
“In actual fact, I don’t have a preferred position, I can play either as a number 6 or as a left sided winger, I will do whatever the Club needs and what is best for the team.”
“The Italian league is difficult, I am prepared for it: coming from Switzerland, this transfer is the next step in my career. In each game I see the level I’m aiming to reach, and I work day after day to achieve this in the future.”
“As a small boy, I always looked up to Yaya Tourè, he was my idol, a strong, box-to-box player; I would like to be like him. My first impressions here at Parma? They are good, immediately the Club helped me to settle in and I already feel at home. I am learning the language and so far, everything is going well. I have spoken with the Coach a few times and we have the same ambitions. It’s normal at the beginning that it takes time to settle in. The teammate who made the biggest impression? We have talented players, but I would say Gervinho, because of his experience and also because he’s played in England. I would also say that Hernani is up there too.”
