Crotone, 22 December 2020 – Parma Calcio Sporting Director Marcello Carli after the game:
“My thoughts? I expected a better outcome, we didn’t finish well. After the game against Roma, the team had given different signals because they got some results, like the draw against AC Milan and beating Genoa. It seemed like the team had started down a new path. We’re not happy with these last two games. This is the reality and this needs to hurt us. Unfortunately, it won’t be a nice Christmas, I won’t have fun. Now we’ll rest for two or three days and when we get back to Collecchio, we’ll go on a training camp because we need to see an improvement in the attitude.”
“We’re risking using the chance as an excuse. I am responsible. I have been able to work and do what we had in mind; we know it’s been a difficult year and that we need to fight for survival. Nobody is so deluded to think that our objectives are otherwise, but we need to improve beyond the episodes that didn’t go our way today. I’m the most at fault, we need to do more. It was an error-strewn game today; Crotone play their own game with their weapons. We need to play better in these games. We conceded too easy goals. Of course, we had our own chances but we need to do more. I’m not happy about it, nobody is. The first person to be discussed is me, heads down and keep pedalling.”
“The market is the last thing on our minds, if not we risk creating another excuse. We all need to grow, starting by quickly bringing through the young players and growing in mentality.”
