Parma, 6 January 2021 – After the match between Atalanta and Parma, Coach Fabio Liverani made the following comments:

My regret is over not having a continuous amount of time to work with the players on the training ground, between injuries, Covid and not having the possibility to have a proper pre-season. When the structure of the club changes, between technical staff, sporting directors and ownership, pre-season is highly important. If I leave, it will be with regret but with many problems, that is how it is in football, I know what my role is, I carry it out calmly”.

“Regardless of the goals given, numerically we have few strikers with which to alternate. Additionally, Gervinho had an injury and is recovering, and Karamoh left the pitch today after just a few minutes. Mihaila had been inactive for three or four months and he managed to play a decent game and get several minutes under his belt”.

“Parma’s season so far has been one of  hope and suffering, because the league itself gives you nothing. We have had several problems in this first half of the season, I hope that we can work with some consistency in training, with fewer injuries and fewer selection problems, allowing the players to have more consistency. Following that, we will have to do something in the transfer market because going forward numerically we will need more experience and more quality. The objective is to get to 24 May and stay above the drop zone, I believe that this is the goal in this very problematic, post-Covid season. Then in a normal season you can prepare with calmness and plan however you like. I was in the dressing room after the game, the management will make their assessments, I remain available, in three days we have another match and right now I am concentrating on that”.
