Parma, 15 May 2021 – Ahead of tomorrow’s match between Parma and Sassuolo, which is scheduled to kick off at 18:00 CEST at Stadio Ennio Tardini, Coach Roberto D’Aversa shared his thoughts on the game. Here is what he had to say:

We will come up against a healthy team, despite their defeat against Juventus, a result that they didn’t deserve from what I saw on the pitch. We have 21 players in the squad for this match, including three goalkeepers and five Primavera players: The difficulties are evident, but we must go out on the pitch with pride. In the past, being the underdog has brought out the best in us and I hope this can happen again tomorrow. The beauty of football is that when you step onto the pitch you have the desire to compete with your opponent even though they might be better than us, you still have the desire to win the match, and get a victory that hasn’t come for a quite some time”.

Riccardo Gagliolo, Alberto Grassi and Juraj Kucka have all been added to the injury list: “I think it’s impossible to analyse this season given everything that has happened. We have to look at tomorrow’s match, a difficult match against a team that has improved from last year, both offensively and defensively. They have been doing a good job for many years now and they’re still fighting for a place in Europe. It won’t be an easy match, but the match always starts at 0-0 with eleven men versus eleven. We’re now bottom of the table, so whoever enters the pitch tomorrow will have to do their best to help us avoid finishing last. Our dignity requires it”.
