Parma, 29 August 2021 – After the match between Parma and Benevento, Coach Maresca had the following words to say in the press room:
“A great win for the boys, they’re working incredibly well, so they deserved it: The last win came in March and in the last minutes whenever they attacked us there was such tension. In the end it was nice to win like this. I would have also been happy with a draw, the team showed good patience”.
“Inglese and Mihaila are important players that we haven’t had available yet; Valentin wasn’t scheduled to play. Schiattarella had to come off with cramps, Cobbaut asked for a change but we didn’t have any more substitutes, Vazquez isn’t yet at his peak but he made a great assist. By improving our condition, we improve our performance. Victories always help, even to help us work better, I would have been even happy with a draw because I’m beginning to recognise the team. The boys needed the win, to get consecutive results to take the weight off of us”.
“Benevento had several players on the pitch that they had last year, they are a good team, it was a good win also for the way Tutino moved in the first half, dropping in to give us superiority. Attacking spaces must be improved upon after creating that superiority. Now I’m waiting for the transfer market to close, it’s important for us and for the guys who can calm down once it closes”.
“I dedicate the victory to Adrian Bernabè, he had a problem and is recovering. I promised him I would, I was waiting for this moment.
