Lecce, 7th November 2021 – At the end of Lecce v Parma, the Managing Director of Parma Calcio, Javier Ribalta, gave his thoughts on the match:

“We were coming off the back of two positive results but we didn’t approach this match in the same way, in fact we approached it in the wrong way. The team can’t seem to find any consistency and perhaps this is one of the main problems, we must find some consistency in our results. Over the course of the season, losing like we did in Lecce is possible, just like the loss in Reggio Calabria, but losing like this is not acceptable, especially with this approach”.

“There is nothing wrong with Man or Mihaila, the coach had faith in the team that had been playing well, along with the change of Coulibaly in place of Mihaila because Lecce away is a very different match compared to playing Vicenza at home, so I do not think there is any problem with them; just like all the players, they must work hard and always give their all”.

“What will I say to Maresca? We will do what we always do after a defeat, like the one in Reggio: the first thing to address is attitude, aggressiveness, being competitive as we showed in the last two games but then didn’t today or against Reggina. That’s the most important thing to deal with right now. Any thoughts on Maresca’s position? No, absolutely not. The transfer market? January is still far away, we’ve changed our system of play and whether we continue like this or not will be determined by the next few games between now and mid-December, in three or four weeks we’ll be able to think about the January transfer market, now it’s a bit too early.”

“I want to apologise to the fans on behalf of the club for that performance, hopefully with two weeks to work we can get back on the track and pick up from where we left off before the Lecce game.”
