Parma, 4 December 2021 – Nice memories from a match in Ascoli Piceno in Serie B are fairly recent.

We’re talking about just three years ago.

It was a midweek spring evening on Wednesday 18 April 2018.

A sensational goal right out of the top drawer from Emanuele Calaiò was enough to secure the win.

It was the third minute and the man known as L’Arciere (The Archer) bagged from around 27 yards out, smashing it past Ascoli goalkeeper Ivan Lanni (1-0 to Parma).

That early goal didn’t cause Parma to let up, and they came close to doubling their lead in the first half with attempts from distance from Luca Siligardi and Jacopo Dezi.

The best chance fell to Yves Baraye in the second half.

Our number ten unleashed from close to the penalty spot but was turned behind by Lanni for a corner.

This is the Crociati History that we wanted to reread on the eve of another trip to Ascoli, tomorrow for the 17th matchday of Serie B 2021/2022.
