Parma, 17 April 2022 – Ascoli are to make the trip to stadio Ennio Tardini, for their Serie B match in mid-April.

It happened, in the Crociati’s history, on Tuesday, April 21, 2009.

On this occasion the game was played during midweek, because the whole round of league fixtures had been postponed as a show of respect for the victims of the terrible earthquake that devastated the city of L’Aquila and the surrounding area ten days prior.

Parma Calcio won 2-0 and controlled the match right from the off.

Parma took the lead, after 24 minutes, courtesy of captain, Stefano Morrone.

The Crociati midfielder broke away from his marker, to score in front of the Curva Nord, as he finished Paolo Castellini’s well-flighted cross from the left (1-0).

The home side doubled their lead, in the 75th minute, as Alberto Paloschi (with his tenth goal of the season) scored with his head, timing his effort to perfection from the corner kick.

With this success, coach Francesco Guidolin’s team, with his goalkeeper in the stands serving a suspension (goalkeeper coach, Lorenzo Di Iorio, replaced him on the bench) took a huge step towards Serie A promotion.

The team consolidated their second place in the standings, behind leaders Bari, with Livorno sat third, trailing by seven points.
