Parma, 8 June 2022 – President Kyle Krause presented the Crociati’s new coach, Fabio Pecchia, in the press room of the stadio Ennio Tardini, in Parma this morning.

“Today is an important day for the football club, because this is essentially the first day of the new season. It is the perfect opportunity to be able to talk to you all and catch up. Everyone knows that the last two seasons, to put it mildly, have often been difficult. I am of course aware that many of our fans have been supporting the club for much longer than I have, but believe me, the past two seasons have made for quite uncomfortable viewing at times. Getting back to the hotel after the game was a far too often a grueling journey. If we want to discuss Parma’s future, you’ll likely find me repeating the objectives that have been prioritised over the last 2 years. I think you’ll all agree that the club’s priority is to try and regain Parma’s Serie A status. We are chomping at the bit to get back to work as soon as possible, not to put pressure on the new manager. Looking ahead to the new season and the club’s future, to date, I think the team is in a good place and boasts a strong balance of youthful quality but also experienced heads. Thanks to the club’s history, European pedigree and reputation, we are able to attract players from a higher level. Some of you have already had your say on potential new coaches, but thanks to the strength and pull of the club, I am delighted to announce that we have been able to appoint our number one choice. Of course, while assessing the options as to who would be the right fit, our efforts were focused on someone who we deemed suitable for any future plans the club may have. Our research targeted coaches who advocate an offensive, original style of play but we ultimately needed someone who could identify the missing pieces to the jigsaw and create a team. We also looked for someone who has already encountered substantial success. Whenever I spoke with Fabio, he really conveyed the feeling of all pushing in the same direction and working closely as a team. He is also familiar with the club’s stature. It is therefore with great pleasure that I today introduce to you our new coach to whom I wish a fantastic summer and a fantastic start to the new season.”
