Parma, 30 September 2022 – For their next match, Parma Women will travel to the home of the Giallorosse on matchday 5 of the Women’s Serie A on Sunday 2 October, 14.30 CEST kick-off. Let’s look at some stats for both teams ahead of the match on Sunday.

● After Sassuolo, Parma are the second team from Emilia-Romagna to face Roma in Serie A; the Giallorosse lost their first ever meeting with the Neroverdi in the league (3-2 on 22 September 2018) but since then have had a run of seven consecutive matches without a loss (6 wins, 1 draw).

● Parma will be the 19th team who Roma have played in the top division; the Giallorosse have won at least one game against 17 of these 18 opponents – the one exception being Juventus (1 draw, 7 losses).

● Since the start of last season’s Serie A, Roma have won the most home games (11) and have scored the most goals at home (40, at least five more than any other side in this period).

● After Riviera di Romagna, San Zaccaria and Sassuolo, Parma could become the fourth team from Emilia-Romagna to score at least one goal away to a team from Lazio in the top league in the last 10 seasons (since 2013/14).

● Parma have conceded 11 goals in the first four games of this championship (only less than Pomigliano, who have conceded 12), at least three more than the last two debutants in the league after the same number of matches (seven for Pomigliano and eight for Sampdoria in the 2021/22 season).

● Roma has the best defence in the league so far this season conceding only two goals (they have never conceded so few at this point in the season); the Giallorosse, in each of the last four seasons of Serie A, have always conceded at least twice this many after five matches.

● Parma, along with Sassuolo, have conceded the most headed goals so far this season (three, including their most recent one against AC Milan); Roma, on the other hand, are one of five teams who are yet to concede in this manner (their most recent was on 19 March last season against AC Milan).

● Valentina Giacinti has scored three goals in the first four games and could become the first Roma player to score at least four in the first five games of the season in the top flight.

● Valeria Pirone and Marija Banusic are two players with a history at Roma: the Italian scored eight goals in 17 Serie A appearances for the Giallorosse, in the 2021/22 season. The Swede on the other hand, played her first five games in Serie A for Roma, scoring one goal (vs Inter on 20 March 2021).

● Melania Martinovic has scored three goals against Roma in Serie A, once in an Atalanta Mozzanica jersey (24 March 2019) and twice for Florentia (17 November 2019 and 6 December 2020). The Parma striker has scored six of her laet nine goals in the top flight with her head (including her first for Parma on 18 September), in the last three seasons only Girelli (13) and Pirone (seven) have score more in this way.
