Parma, 19 October 2022

Parma got another cup victory under their belts tonight and have now earned a last of 16 round tie, in January, against Inter in the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa. Against Bari, one of the bright stars of the Serie BKT championship, the Crociati won through a great header by Adrian Benedyczak (a lob over Frattali on the end of a cross from Sohm) and qualification in the bag. In the second half, with the substitutions already planned by Pecchia of Charpentier and Ansaldi, Parma held off a comeback from the visitors with another impressive performance from Edo Corvi in goal who who kept out two very dangerous attempts by Ceter and Vicari (a shot from the distance deflected onto the crossbar). It wasn’t only the young goalkeeper, though, but the whole team that fought hard and brought home the win and a ticket to the next round, as much wanted as hoped for in January at San Siro, one of football’s biggest stages.
