Parma, 12 November 2022 – Comments from the Crociati’s coach Fabio Pecchia, after Parma vs Cittadella, on matchday 13 of Serie BKT 2022-23.

STRONG APPROACH AND SOLID MENTALITY
“We had a very strong approach, a desire to play the game and score goals. I liked the team’s mental solidity, knowing they were facing a troublesome and very pragmatic opponent. Although we were behind on second balls and duels, in possession we played well and with quality. The goal is always about the whole team, we scored with a defender, on a good play from a set piece. It’s important to score goals and create chances, towards the end we had several chances and we could have made the result more rounded. An extraordinary performance from Bobby, it’s a shame that he didn’t manage to score. He made a key assist and created a lot in his 70 minutes, which was fundamental and a good contribution to a team performance”.

VÁZQUEZ E BERNABÉ? DIFFERENT BUT INTERCHANGEABLE CHARACTERISTICS
“Vázquez is doing well and getting better and better. He plays the role with absolute confidence and ease, he manages to give us quality in the management of the ball and in recovery. Now there’s the break, we will recover fully as a group and we will be grateful for this come the end of the championship. This period has helped us to understand many new things. With Bernabé we can create interchangeable options, but now Adrian must recover and return to full fitness, because he has been out for two months and it weighs on his condition. When he is at his best, it will be an advantage for everyone, including the group itself. He has different characteristics to Franco, in the future we will see what can happen”.

A BREAK AT THE RIGHT TIME, WE WILL WORK ON THE DETAILS
“For the rest of our journey, since it’s not just about one match, we need the full squad. Because there will be ups and downs, for one player or another, having more options is an advantage for me and means the team will suffer less from setbacks. That is the idea, there is no inequality within the group, everyone is equally as important. It’s the group that has to be the basis. Having 25 players is different than having 12, at times we were even reduced to our bare bones. It’s important to have them available and then with five changes per match I can use 16 players. The break? We will have players who join up with their national teams, the break will be a good time to recover, because we need it. In these ten days it will be useful to work on the specifics with some players and get back to full fitness”.

TODAY, AS IN PALERMO, WE WERE DOMINANT ON THE FIELD
“At the start of the year someone told me we were struggling to express ourselves at the Tardini, while away from home we were much better. We lost in Palermo, but I analysed the performance and for me it was generally very positive. So was the Sudtirol game. In Palermo, as today, we dominated on the pitch. Matches must open up, when they open up it’s a different story. And we can take advantage when spaces open up. In all things the smallest details make all the difference. I am happy with the attitude and dedication of the boys, their reward is the goals they score in the game. Delprato’s goal was good, it was vital for our victory. Benek? Two special days for him, Antoni was born and he celebrated it with a goal. And he scored the goal starting from a more defensive position, it doesn’t matter if you get there from a central area or somewhere else, it’s all about the end product”.
