Parma, 31 December 2022 – He has been one of the (silent) stars of the Crociati. And his growth has coincided with a call-up to coach Roberto Mancini’s National team. On a personal level, 2022 has been a memorable year for Enrico Delprato. The stats are all in his favour, and the confirm that our club’s decision last summer to bet on him was the right one.

Having turned 24 in November, he is in his second season with the Gialloblù: in the 2022 calendar year he was second behind Vazquez in terms of appearances (36) and as a starter (34). For Franco, the numbers are (both) 37. He is also second in minutes played with 3,074. In third place was Stanko Juric.

Enrico broke a record: in successful passes, he surpassed the Argentine with 1,417 passes (attempting 2,230) against Franco’s 1,262. A great job behind the scenes, always careful not to let the opponents get away down the right flank and trying to push forward as well, to create danger and try to create a chance on the break

In the first half of the current season, we discovered him in a new scoring role: 8 total shots which he converted into 3 goals, scored against Ternana, Como and Cittadella. In 19 matches, in which he recorded 17 appearances and 16 as a starter for a total of 1,473 minutes, Delprato stood out among the Crociati in another ranking: interceptions: he is first with 25, ahead of Oosterwolde (24) and Valenti 22). These numbers took him all the way to his first Azzurri call-up, the Coverciano training camp, where he wore the jersey of the national team for the first time. He has become one of the Crociati’s key players, always under the radar, always working with great dedication and determination. A philosophy that has characterised his young career so far, and which shines a light on the future.
