Collecchio, 4 January 2022 – 19-year-old newcomer Nicole Arcangeli is one of 10 players to watch out for in 2023, according to UEFA, who consider her to be capable of challenging established stars.
The striker, who plays for Parma Calcio Prima Squadra Femminile and is the only Italian, was included by UEFA in the special list after topping the goalscoring charts at the EURO WU19 finals in the Czech Republic, joining the roll of honour that has included Melvine Malard, Patri Guijarro, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Stina Blackstenius and Vivianne Miedema since 2014.
Those five goals showed just how dangerous Nicole Arcangeli, who grew up in Riccione Calcio Femminile, is for opposing defences, earning her a place in Juventus’ first team, where she made two appearances last season. She will now continue her career at Parma, where she arrived on loan from the Bianconeri.
The other nine players in UEFA’s list are: Mara Alber (GER, 17 – Hoffenheim), Serina Backmark (SWE, 19 – AIK), Esmee Brugts (NED, 19 – PSV Eindhoven), Laurina Fazer (FRA, 19 – Paris Saint-Germain), Signe Gaupset (NOR, 17 – Brann), Vicky López (ESP, 16 – Barcelona), Nina Matejić (SRB, 17 – Crvena zvezda), Ana Milović (SVN, 21 – Olimpija Ljubljana), Katie Robinson (ENG, 20 – Brighton & Hove Albion).
