PARMA CALCIO AND CASALMAGGIORE CITY COUNCIL: SOLIDARITY WITH ATTACKED FAMILY

Casalmaggiore, 30 novembre 2023 - 'We have decided not to leave you alone, which is why we as a Club we wanted to meet you to bring our message of solidarity.' With these words, Luca Martines, Parma Calcio Corporate Managing Director, started off the meeting with the Veneri family, fans of the Crociati and victims of threats and aggression during the first week of November.

The family, made up of mum Gennifer, dad Massimo and children Nora and John, were attacked by a group of people who had threatened them for wearing a Parma Calcio scarf at the San Carlo fair in Casalmaggiore, ordering them to take it off. For this reason, a delegation from the Club, consisting of Luca Martines, SLO's Giuseppe Squarcia and head of Communications, Fabrizio Cometti, together with the Casalmaggiore mayor, Filippo Bongiovanni, and the Councilor for Culture and Tourism, and Parma fan, Marco Micolo, met with the entire Veneri family at the council in Casalmaggiore to underline it was an isolated episode and that football must be a bearer of solidarity and positivity.

The local council, in condemning this isolated episode, expressed its support to the family, who are Parma Calcio fans, by offering them a book about the city to the children.

We are aware that what happened does not reflect the civic sense for which the Casalmaggiore Council has always been distinguished for. This is why we are alongside the highest city institution to underline that football must be the bearer of messages of joy and positive feelings' concluded Luca Martines.

The Veneri family, happy to have met with the Club, were given four personalized Crociati first team shirts and invited to meet their favourite team at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio.
