Firenze, 6 December 2023 - Fabio Pecchia's reaction following the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa last-16 tie with Fiorentina.

'This match gave us a lot, we played really well and put in a great performance against a team that is a proper team, in Serie A and fighting for a Champions League spot. In the first half, we deserved more than just being 2-0 up, then Fiorentina started to push us back, but we defended with good organisation. We conceded the first goal when we had possession, so I'm disappointed with that. But I'm disappointed above all for the lads; after such a performance it would have been the right to go through to the next round. We're proud of what we've done. Now, we have to get back down to work because we have an important match on Sunday.'

'There is some bitterness and anger, but also satisfaction because the performance there for all to see. In the first half, we deserved to score a third goal. In the second half, against a Serie A team that plays in Europe, they came out with a different attitude, even if we didn't risk much. The mentality of the group? The team didn't chang its nature, regardless of the qualities of the individual. It was Cyprien's first match and played a great 90 minutes, as did Hainaut. We need to keep a specific identity, playing football and having fun. When you win it's more enjoyable, but we're on the right path.'
