Parma, 23 December 2023 - Midfielder, Adrian Bernabé’s comments following Parma’s victory over Ternana on Matchday 18 of the Serie BKT Championship. 

“The backheel for Dennis? I have a very special connection with Man, he’s a quality player and he’s very quick. We conceded the goal but we managed to equalise quickly. I saw that he gave me the ball and ran in behind, since he’s quick I tried to give the ball back to him as quickly as possible and the flick was the only way to do it. Luckily, it went well! Today was a special match because it was the last one at the Tardini, we needed a win because we haven’t managed to win 3 points at home in our last couple of matches. So we spoke during the week about how important it was to win the three points today because it would give us a lot of strength and morale in our final match against Brescia before the break. Winter Champions? Happy, but there’s still one more important game. Brescia is a difficult match, we have to win three points, that’s the only thing we need. 

We’ll see each other again in January to continue our campaign. The match? It was great, we had some problems at the start. Then we found the goal quickly with a great piece of play between himself and me. It was easier in the second half because we scored immediately. And the three points mean a lot. We feel the pressure, all the players want to make it to Serie A, we feel the responsibility but we want to make all the fans proud of this and the whole city, which has suffered for two years. The pressure is there but there is still so long to go in the league, now we’re only thinking about getting the win in Brescia. And then we’ll think about the future. We’re happy, we’re in form but we have to keep on working. 

My best period in Parma? I’d say it’s the period where my statistics are best! Goals, assists, but what counts is helping the team in whichever role I play. The important thing is to help the team, individual statistics aren’t worth anything at the end of the year if you don’t achieve your team goals. Dennis put in a great performance today, he hadn’t scored for a few games. And the fans were behind him and us to be all together. That makes you feel the difference from last season.'
