Comments from Managing Director Sport, Roel Vaeyens:

THE GIALLOBLU’S SERIE A ENILIVE CALENDAR

“Our opener against Fiorentina is an exciting prospect: we’ll immediately be up against a great team who are used to playing at high levels in Serie A and who possess real international experience. In our first three matches, we’ll face two of the teams that won the league in the past three years, namely AC Milan and Napoli. It’s a very challenging start to the season for us, but it’s great that our first two matches will be at our football home, the Stadio Tardini, in front of our fans. Despite it being period where many go on holiday, my wish is to see the stadium full of enthusiasm and fans in order to give strength to the team and further push the players to achieve important results. We want to make the fans proud and build on the results we’ve achieved so far, creating positive feelings at the start of the campaign. However, we’re aware that they’ll be very tough matches, like every game will be, because the level of Serie A is very high.”

WE’LL WORK TO STAY WHERE WE DESERVE TO BE

“Our goal last season was to earn promotion to Serie A. Parma is a Club with a fantastic history and deserve to be here. We’re happy that this has become reality, but we know that it won’t be easy next season. It’ll be a tough campaign: Serie A has grown in terms of quality and the clubs here are of a high level, but we’ll work hard to retain our top-flight status. Our ambition is to remain where we are now, and we want to do so with positive football. It won’t be easy against such high-quality teams, but we want to give it a go.”

OUR YOUNGSTERS READY FOR SERIE A

“We have our identity and DNA. We have a young team; it was the third youngest squad in Serie B. I think that will also be the case in Serie A, and we have players who possess real quality and can still improve. We’re here because of our boys, who have worked very hard, and now they need to show that they’re ready for Serie A. All of us, including the coach, are convinced that they are.”
