Parma Women lost 5-2 to Inter in the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia at the end of a thrilling and exciting match, which ended only after extra time.
The beginning of the match saw both teams studying each other, with few offensive moves and a contained pace. The first chance came in the 14th minute, with an attempt from the distance by Diaz that grazed the crossbar of the goal defended by Fierro. The guests' lead arrived in the 32nd minute: a defensive error by the Gialloblù allowed Bugeja to break free on the counter-attack and hit the net with a precise left-footed shot, putting the Nerazzurre ahead 1-0, end of the first half.
In the second half, Parma played with great determination and came close to equalising in the 67th minute with a deflected shot by Kajzba that finished just wide. The match then heated up around the 70th minute, with Inter making themselves dangerous first with Cambiaghi and then with Wullaert, but both found two great saves from Fierro. In the 73rd minute, Parma finally found the equaliser: Kajzba took advantage of a defensive mistake by Inter, entered the box and scored the 1-1 goal. Only two minutes passed and the Gialloblù turned the result upside down: Rognoni, on a counterattack, was alone in front of Rúnarsdóttir and made no mistake, bringing Parma to 2-1 and making the Stadio Il Noce explode with joy. Inter, however, did not give up and in the 79th minute found the equaliser with Cambiaghi, who headed a corner kick and sent the match into extra time.
In the first period of extra time, Inter got ahead again in the 101st minute with a great left-footed shot by Karchouni. A few minutes later, Magull scored with a powerful attempt from the edge of the box to put Inter 4-2 up. The fifth goal came in the 112th minute and again was from Cambiaghi, who scored her personal double against her former team and sealed the match.
