ANGE-YOAN BONNY, THE ASSIST ”MAESTRO” FOR HIS TEAMMATES

Collecchio, 3 January 2024 - Ange-Yoan Bonny: The Assist Maestro for Parma Calcio, born in the canton of Aubervilliers, in the arrondissement of Saint-Denis, and in the department of Seine, Ange-Yoan Bonny has been gradually mastering the art of football. Perfecting it day by day, honing an imposing physique, and refining his technique. An exquisite player, he turns talent into the ordinary. Known as 'Angelo' to his friends and teammates, he truly embodies the essence of their goals. Because in this first 'half' of the season, he is the undisputed king of the Gialloblu’s assists.

The French forward, who has already been part of the U19 and U20 national teams, made his debut in France with Chateauroux in Ligue 2 on 31 October 2020. He shined there, and in 2021, he then transferred and became a player for Parma Calcio. Considering the regular season, he made thirteen appearances in the first season, doubled that in the second, and already has 18 this year (14 as a starter), amassing a total of 1,924 minutes. Under the management of Fabio Pecchia alone, he played 1,674 minutes on the field. Step by step, Bonny has grown immensely, showcasing his strength and value to the Gialloblu’s fans.

Leading the team in the 'assist king' category is the rightful reward for the great work he is doing: with four key passes, he shares this leadership with Dennis Man (Parma's leading scorer this season), both edging ahead of Bernabé and Sohm (who are tied at three). 'Angelo' genuinely enjoys providing assists; it's in his DNA, making his teammates happy. Much like his close friend Adrian Bernabé, with whom he shares celebrations for both goals and assists, of course.

At the top of the league's assist chart, Iovine (Como), Vazquez (Cremonese), Calò (Cosenza), and Vandeputte (Catanzaro) lead with five goal-contributing passes. For Bonny, beyond assisting the team, there's an additional reason to lace up and collect more assists from the match against Ascoli (14 January). A testament to his growth and utility on the field is evident in the touches inside the opponent's area. 'Angelo' tops the list for Parma Calcio with 74 touches, ahead of Man (70) and Benedyczak (58). Another piece in the puzzle showcasing his functionality and versatility. For someone who has just turned twenty, it's a beautiful beginning.
