Parma, 4 March 2025 - Despite the constantly growing female presence in the world of esports, women continue to face several difficulties in the competitive gaming sector. Our Parma Esports Women's Valorant team have decided to broach this topic in an innovative way.

With 'Breaking Grounds', we want to tell the stories of our Gialloblu players and their journeys. 'Breaking Grounds' is a docu-series published on the Club's official YouTube channel with extracts posted on the Parma Esports Instagram and TikTok pages, bringing to light the experiences of our players including Effy, In Game Leader (IGL) and five-time Italian champion of the Genesi tournament, accompanied by narration from Jessica Armanetti, one of the first professional female Italian Halo players and now a gaming content creator for Parma. On this journey, we will recount the difficulties women face in the world of esports such as gender-based discrimination in video games, all the whilst exploring the stories of our young 'rookies' and the dreams they are pursuing.

The documentary, centred on Effy and Jessica, takes place on the iconic streets and locations of Parma such as the Stadio Tardini and the Piazza del Duomo, creating a strong bond between the city and our Club. Our aim is to promote the value and visibility of our Women's Sector, showing how Parma Esports is giving women a voice and opportunities in the world of esports, with an innovative offering that breaks away from traditional titles.

This story is entwined with current events, in a few days' time we will celebrate International Women's Day but our team is also about to start a new chapter in their history - on 5 and 6 March, the girls will participate in the Genesi open qualifiers, the official national Valorant tournament, with the aim of winning a spot in the regular season which will begin at the end of the month.
