Parma, 27 September 2024 – Parma Calcio is proud to announce, following the launch of the “ViverÈParma” project a few weeks ago, the growth and continuation of its collaboration with the University of Parma. This time, the partnership will involve Parma Esports, which will actively participate in the national project 'Health, Safety, and Human Rights in eSports: A Multidisciplinary Approach to a Legal Solution.' The project, funded by the MUR, will be presented on Monday, 27 September at 17:00 CEST at the Campus of Sciences and Technologies of the University of Parma (Aula O - Pad. 'Aula delle Scienze') during the 'European Researchers' Night 2024.' Diego Campagnani, aka “CrazyFatGamer,” coach of FC25 for Parma Esports and FIFA20 world champion, will also be there to share his experience and challenge the attendees.
“eSports are virtual, but they can have real-life effects. However, there is still no systematic analysis aimed at defining the theoretical foundations and their practical consequences. In fact, there is no generally accepted definition at present, as there is no regulation of eSports at either the national or international level”, reads the project abstract, which states that it 'will have a significant impact on various scientific fields, including legal, medical, and economic sectors'. The collaboration with the University of Parma will not only see the Club supporting the research project but also involve scientific outreach activities, interviews with pro-players and professionals in Parma Esports, participation in and organisation of expert meetings, workshops, and seminars, as well as support in data collection.
