NAHUEL ESTEVEZ: ”AGAINST ASCOLI, IT WILL BE A TOUGH MATCH”

Collecchio, 10 January 2024 - Statements from midfielder Nahuel Estévez, in an interview given during the 'Dazn Talks' broadcast on Dazn.

THE MATCH AGAINST ASCOLI

''It will be a tough match. We know they need points for survival. And at home, in front of our fans, we must play a great match. We had a good first half of the season, but there's still a lot left. We know how Serie B is. We must stay grounded. There are still 19 games, and the scores are always settled in the end. I don't analyze the others; I don't like it. Here, we are a great group. Not only those on the field but also those on the sidelines or in the stands, we all fight together for our goal, which we know. And I think that when this unity is created, things most definitely get better.''

LESSONS ARE LEARNED

''Last year's playoffs were a tough blow. From 0-2, we found ourselves at 3-2... But it serves us to mature as a team, and I think we've done that. Those tough moments are good for us. We've learned. As those defeats are needed to improve our drive.''

THE QUALITY OF THE SQUAD

''You always need quality: we know the players we have in front of us. But, as I say, the important thing is this mentality, to stay united and all together, even defensively. It's not a problem for me to run; we all run... If I have to fight for them, it's not a problem. Bonny, Bernabé, Man... Ansaldi, despite being a bit older, has incredible quality. For me, he is top-notch. Bernabé is very strong, with the right mentality. He, with the quality he has, can play great. He can easily play in the Champions League.''

EX-GIALLOBLU VERON AND THE PRIDE OF BEING IN PARMA

''I had the pleasure of having Veron as president at Estudiantes: here, he made history because he won. We all know the history that Parma has, for what it has won and what it represents for Italy. I am proud to be here. When I had the opportunity to come here, I had no doubts.''

SUPPORT FROM THE FANS

''The fans are truly the extra man on the pitch because they always push for us. They are very important. What we have achieved in this round is the merit of everyone: us on the field, the management, but also the fans who are there with us. When I say we have to be a family, it' means everyone that is involved with the club.''
