It’s another international match for Fabio Pecchia’s side, who don’t want to overlook the slightest detail as they prepare for next season in Serie A. After games against Lugano and Royal Antwerp, the Gialloblu will take on Okan Buruk’s Galatasaray, the reigning Turkish champions (two consecutive league titles). They have some fantastic players and talents, meaning a highly competitive affair awaits. It’s an unmissable match that brings back memories of when the two teams met during the 1997/98 Champions League group stage. Back then, the sides drew 1-1 in Türkiye after Parma had won 2-0 at the Tardini.
Furthermore, this match will be played at a fantastic and modern stadium: the Raiffeisen Arena in Linz. The new facility was inaugurated in February 2023, replacing the Linzer Stadion (built in 1952). Today, it is the home of LASK Linz, has 19,080 seats (like the club’s year of foundation) and is a UEFA Category 4 stadium, allowing it to host international matches.
