SPORTING DIRECTOR MAURO PEDERZOLI: “WE'RE GROWING, EVERYTHING STILL TO BUILD”

Collecchio, 2 October 2023 - The comments of Crociati Sporting Director, Mauro Pederzoli, interviewed for the TV show “B Side” on Sky Sports.

THE PATH TO GROWTH STARTED A LONG TIME AGO

It's a journey that started a long time ago, in recent seasons we have chosen continuity, safe in the belief that we had signed young and high-quality players. And this is part of Parma's policy. We have paired them with an ideal coach, like Fabio Pecchia, to get the best out of these players, and we have tried to find consistency in the journey that began two seasons ago. We acted in the market trying tomake changes, to improve, without ruining anything and continuing to place our trust first in the coach and his staff, who are working admirably hard, and then in our young people who are continuing their path of growth'.

THE YOUNGEST SQUAD, EVERYTHING TO BUILD

'The transfer market? I confirm that we received many offers for our young players, they are known and followed almost everywhere. This summer there was a lot of movement around them, but it was our wish to move forward with the same squad and it wasn't difficult to say no to the interested parties. We are the youngest team in the league, the eleven that go out on the pitch are systematically the youngest every time. This is a source of satisfaction and totally in line with the Club’s wishes. Having said this, it should also be noted that nothing is finished yet. We are at matchday 8, a fifth of the campaign. There is still a lot of time ahead and a long way to go. Pecchia said that you’re scot-free when you have a 40-point advantage? He's right, I agree. The right approach is maintained week after week on the pitch through work, together. in the field, all together. Everyone's talking about Parma now, we've won a few games, but there's everything still to do and build on.'
