HEAD COACH FABIO PECCHIA: “THE GROUP IS WORKING, AN IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION FROM THE BENCH”

Parma, 30 September 2024 - Comments from Head Coach Fabio Pecchia, given at the end of the Parma Cagliari match, on match day six of the Serie A Aniline 2024/25 season.

'It's a defeat which hurts, given how the game went. We did a lot of good things, even in the most delicate moment, in the second half I saw a team that wanted to get a good result. We pushed, we deserved a draw and probably even more. At 1-1 I saw a top side, the boys showed great desire and quality. But in the end, we're annoyed and have a sense of disappointment. I'm not worried, it's part of the margins for improvement that we have, we want to play football but we want to win matches. To win the games, there are moments where the management, being in the moment, has to be better. The boys will take the positive, because we are able to win these games. I am happy with the group, we worked hard and responded. Even today, those who came off the bench made valuable contributions. I have no doubts about the application. After a game like this, we have to absorb the defeat, learn from it, but the group will work and we have the right desire. Perhaps our approach wasn't our usual one, but our team performed well. The recipe? Keep working on our aspects, we will continue on this path. After an effort like this, the boys deserved something else. In the second half there was a great reaction, and I am sorry because in the last part of the game the boys put a lot of effort in, but we come away with a defeat. We have to pay more attention and be more compact, something which we've demonstrated in the first part of the league. There's not been any physical tiredness, we wouldn't have been able to give the reaction that we did at Lecce in the second half and we wouldn't have fought like we did today. There were some good points and bad points in the match today, we will work on this'.
