FABIO PECCHIA: ”THE TOUGHEST PROMOTION, I HUG EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THE LADS”

Bari, 1 May 2024 - Fabio Pecchia's post-game words after Bari 1-1 Parma, which sealed promotion to Serie A for the Gialloblu.

THE PROMOTION

'It's been a long and tough season. We've faced very strong opponents. Achieving this promotion makes us happy and proud. An adjective for these guys? I hug each and every one of them, for the work done and the commitment. They all deserve it, from the first to the last.

The three promotions? All victories are beautiful, although I must admit that this was the toughest.

The primary goal was to reach Serie A, but it's not over yet because we want to win the league. The promotion is a credit to the structure and the Club, but also to all those players who, despite being very young, have been able to integrate well into all the rotation dynamics. I relied on the intelligence of the players and the group, which has proven to be strong and solid'.

THE SEASON

'At times, from the outside, it seemed like it was an easy championship for us, but the guys understood that it was far from easy. An intelligence they demonstrated again today, given the results that kept changing in the other games. They knew how to approach the game with the right mindset. Difficult moment? In my opinion, the challenge that left the most scars was the one with Catanzaro. On that occasion, we played well, but we lost at home. At that moment, I liked how the team was able to react mentally. We learned a lot from last season, which ended bitterly, and despite the group being very young, we managed to create the right mentality to face this championship with even more determination.'

ANSALDI

'With Cristian, there's a fantastic relationship. He has played a fundamental role even though he found less space than last year. A man who always knows how to say the right thing, with the right enthusiasm, and who is always ready to help the guys'.
