Collecchio, 11 November 2023 - Coach Fabio Pecchia spoke in a pre-match press conference at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio ahead of the game against Lecce.

WE WILL HEAR OUR FANS LOUD AND CLEAR 

“Our identity has to be clear despite the opposition and the pitch. We have the desire to play and to win, which we must do with enthusiasm and lightness, it cannot feel heavy. The idea is to leave a mark on the game, we want to do so whether we play at home or away. We want to do that in Lecco. Every week we face different opponents in different environments. We will face an atmosphere that is against us in Lecco, but we have our fans, we need to have them by our side because there will be many of them. But really in every moment of the game because this stadium is particularly small, everything is tight and close together. This is the closeness that will make our fans feel even nearer to us. From game to game, we need to keep moving the objectives if we want to keep up our position, if we want to keep being the star of our own show. We need to raise the level”.

THE SQUAD BEFORE THE BREAK

“The international break will be bad for Parma? I made a pact with my lads, I trust them. The game should only be considered from a technical and tactical point of view. An in-form squad, after the changes. The results speak for themselves, two great wins over Palermo and Pisa, then the draw in Reggio. But also the performance against Spezia showed that we are also a mentally well-trained squad, in good mental and physical health. And then the game, as it has been emphasised, must remember our recent past. It is a game we must play to win, this is why we need to face it with such care”.

 RESPECT FOR LECCO

“I have a great respect for Lecco, for their history, for what that have been through in the first half of the season. Now I see a well-trained squad and we must concentrate on what goes on on the pitch. We need to do even better, our performance must improve on negative aspects. In the last few matches, they have wanted to play the game. They want to do it at home too. They have Novakovich to inspire them, they have a structure. They use a true 4-3-3 but they often change out their players. It is a well-defined squad. Their latest results have gone in their favour, deservedly. The synthetic pitch? Seeing the photos, it seems to me like the ball rolls very smoothly. We need to play close to the ground, quickly and with quality. After the first few minutes of adapting and warming up, it seems like this won’t be a hugely important factor”.

SQUAD CONDITION AND FORMATION CHOICES

“Mihaila? He had a brief spell of tonsillitis last night and won't be with the group. It could have been a good opportunity for him since he played well at Lecce, it could’ve given him some consistency. But pausing worries me less this time, it isn't a question of being injured. It is a flu that can be easily managed. I am happy with Balogh’s performance, the defensive line had a good attitude in the last game. Balogh and Circati make a good pairing, they could be used again given Osorio’s condition. Also the possibility of Delprato in the centre, I have some choices to make”.
