FABIO PECCHIA: “WE WANTED TO FINISH WITH 22 WINS, CONGRATULATIONS COMO”

Reggio nell’Emilia, 10 May 2024 -  The words of Fabio Pecchia after the Serie BKT Matchday 36 game Reggiana v Parma.

It was a true and beautiful match that came alive in the first half. We had many chances to take the lead but we found ourselves behind. Reggiana could have hurt us in other situations'.

In the second half, the game was under control. I am extremely happy with the performance of the team, but especially with Christain Ansaldi's performance. We wanted to play the game and we wanted to win. Regardless of the selection choices, we wanted to face the derby with great respect'.

It was a beautiful spectacle, even for me. It would have been difficult to guess the lineup this time. Our ambition was to finish with 22 victories, that was the goal. We didn't manage it however the real reward is ahead of us.

Winning is always challenging. Our opponents pushed us. I congratulate Como for making it to Serie A. My regards to all the teams that played with energy but I compliment Como because having three teams with over 70 points is a remarkable achievement'.

We are where we are because I am fortunate to coach an extraordinary group. We're going up because the group responded. Ansaldi? His 90 minutes were a crescendo.

He was crucial for the penalty. He was keen on finishing with us, in an extraordinary way. I am happy that he completed a game such as this.

'We return home with a good result. Three images of this season? Bari in the first match, then the reverse fixture in Bari. Last but not least, the postcard is from last Sunday. The players at the Euros? I advise them to give their best. The team, however, resumes work on Tuesday, there's still time to wait for holidays'.
