Parma, 21 November 2024 - Parma Calcio Women is proud to announce a three-year partnership with Oxfam, the humanitarian organisation active in Italy and across the world in the fight against every form of discrimination and for social inclusion.
The aim of the collaboration will be to educate the public and promote gender equality in the world of sport, making the Women's First Team the ambassadors of this important mission. As a tangible sign of their shared commitment, the Oxfam logo will appear on the Gialloblu shirts for the coming three seasons.
Parma Calcio is, in fact, deeply committed to building an environment that centres people and community and intends to become a model for diversity, equity and inclusion.
Oxfam will support Parma Calcio in defining its stance on gender equality and all the tools necessary for creating spaces of equality, and equal access to resources and opportunities. The journey will directly involve both the management and squads, providing the Club with concrete tools to build a solid base in support of gender equality, monitoring and implementing political change not just in terms of inclusivity but also prevention and awareness of inappropriate conduct.
Parma Calcio and Oxfam share the conviction that football, as a universal sport, can be a powerful driving force for human rights and inclusion. With the aim of inspiring new generations.
Luca Martines, Managing Director Corporate of Parma Calcio: “We
are extremely pleased to announce our partnership with Oxfam, an organisation which shares our values and vision. This collaboration represents a precious opportunity for us, to promote inclusivity and gender justice, two goals that we consider fundamental not only in sport but also in society. With Oxfam by our side, we now have the chance to fulfil an important mission, via a multi-year project, to bring forward a concrete path that sees football become a vehicle for inclusion and justice'.
Marta Pieri, Corporate Office of Oxfam Italia: “Parma Calcio wants to courageously break out of boxes and away from prejudices, beginning a never-before-seen journey in the world of football. Sowing the seeds of gender equality, and building together models to beat discrimination, of every kind, will be Oxfam's job alongside the Club. At least once, in this case, equality will win'.
In the coming months, Parma Calcio Women will accompany Oxfam at fundraisers in support of global humanitarian emergencies, with particular attention on supporting women, as a vehicle for change in their communities and the fight against poverty.
