FABIO PECCHIA AT MILAN FOOTBALL WEEK: ”WORKING TO CONTINUE OUR JOURNEY”

Milan, 14 June 2024 -

Fabio Pecchia and Cesc Fabregas spent an afternoon together to relive their journey to Serie A. The coach of Parma, who finished first in Serie B, and the Spaniard from Como, who came in second, were invited on stage at the Milan Football Week for the pre-opening event in Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan, organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Interviewed by journalists Giulia Mizzoni and Nicola Binda in the panel dedicated to “La Nostra Serie A' (Our Serie A), Pecchia and Fabregas shared their stories, from their coaching methods to winning the championship, from the emotions they experienced to the new Serie A awaiting them. It was an enjoyable afternoon filled with jokes and analyses between the two protagonists of the recently concluded championship and the one to come.

Coach Fabio Pecchia's said: 'There is a desire and intention to continue the work at Parma. Winning the league was a great satisfaction, with a journey that lasted 24 months. The championship was long, and we were the hare, and everyone, including Cesc, thought and hoped that we would lose ground. It was tougher for us compared to those chasing us. When the match in Bari ended, I said, 'it's really over now,' and only at that moment could we lower our guard'.

'What will Parma do in Serie A? In the last two years, we played against four Serie A teams in the Coppa Italia, and we did not change our way of working or playing at all. Sometimes the opponents force you to play a different game. We will adapt, but our style and the idea of playing entertaining and enjoyable football are set. We carry with us two years of work, and we will continue on this path.'
