HEAD COACH FABIO PECCHIA: “WE WILL LEAVE A MARK ON THE MATCH”

Collecchio, 24 November 2023 - Parma Head Coach, Fabio Pecchia, spoke in a press conference at the Mutti Training Center in Collecchio ahead of the game against Modena.

MODENA HAS THE COURAGE TO BE DARING

“I see a Modena side that has worked hard, with a coach that has changed something in the recent games but maintains a certain philosophy that isn't connected to a formula or work on the pitch. But there is a method to the game, with quality players in the middle of the pitch. We need to dictate the play and leave a mark on the game with our work, insisting on what we want to do. Scoring goals and searching to double the lead, when there's the chance, but we have to leave a mark on the game and put in a convincing performance. Knowing that we face teams that come to the Tardini wanting to win, like Bianco said, they have the courage to be daring. Rightfully so, it's better for the game and for us'.

THE CONDITION OF THE SQUAD

“The international break? It's long, almost 15 days, it seems like a long time since the last game. We need to feel the adrenaline, the feeling of the game and we can only see the response on the pitch. All the players, except those who have had a knock, are available. Man is with the group and has been working hard; Mihaila is back. Everyone is back with the group, Osorio arrived this morning, and apart from Hernani being suspended, everyone is available. Osorio, like the last time we were back from the break, has travelled extensively and will be tired both physically and mentally. It would be difficult for him to be involved. Balogh and Circati are both back from international duty. They have had little time. Valenti? It will be a gradual integration, I am vey happy to see him back. The first part of his return will be in fits and starts, soon he will be back with the squad on a daily basis. I am happy he is back because he gave us a lot last year'.

DOMINATING THE FIELD AS A PHILOSOPHY

“It in evolution of a squad that works well together, knows each other and it is clear that there is a will to stay in the opposition half. Many times we have sat deep with the ball, but the aim is to play in the opposition half and put them under pressure, to bring more players into their half and make the most of our side's skills. A team, however, must always know how to do both things. We want to continue to do what we know how to do, that is, improve ourselves and play entertaining football as well as entertain ourselves. The players must go out on the pitch with the desire to have fun and to entertain the fans, and play to win'.

THE FIRST 15 MINUTES

“They will come here with the attitude to play the game, like they did against Catanzaro. The attitude won't change, they have players that know what to do. The game will be pushed in this direction by quality players. We need to be insistent and work hard in the first 15 minutes, doing our own thing. Coming on and giving a decisive push to the game'.

110 YEARS OF PARMA CALCIO

“It is a privilege, it is an experience to savour. Being part of the history of such an important club, we are here because we want to stay, not just stop by'.

THE MONTH OF DECEMBER

“A key month with 7 games in 37 days? It is a big feat with many important matches, we'll get there with some recoveries. It is definitely a decisive moment in the first half of the season. We have time to play the games, there is also the Italian Cup. We need to face each challenge full of energy and enthusiasm, but always one at a time'.

POST-LECCO ANALYSIS

“After the break there is always a change. Every defeat hurts, they have to leave their mark because it helps you pay more attention. It is a game where we committed more mistakes and we were punished for it. When we win, we do lots of good things and make less errors. I told the lads this. Technical and tactical errors, after 20 minutes played well, we let go a bit and thought that things would be easy. This is the negative thing from a psychological point of view'.
