Parma Women have conceded their first two goals of the league campaign and recorded their first defeat of the season, losing 2-0 to Chievo. After losing midweek against Inter during the week, Parma found themselves coming into the game a bit tired and encountering difficulties in terms of the intensity shown by the opponents.
The first half was balanced and Parma created the better chances, firstly with Rognoni and then Cox from a corner, but neither of them managed to find a goal. The deadlock was broken in the 43rd minute with a goal from Cavallin, putting Chieva ahead just before the break.
In the second half, Parma tried to attack and take control of the game but couldn't find the back of the net. The best occasion came to Rognoni, but she couldn't convert a good cross from Distefano. Intensity remained high from Chievo and they were rewarded with a goal from a free kick in the 84th minute, sealing the win for them.
With this loss, Parma fall to second place, three points behind Ternana, who beat San Marino Academy today. The Gialloblù will have the chance to right their wrongs next weekend, when they face the side from San Marino at Noceto, to pick up their form in the league.
