Parma, 24 September 2023 - Alessandro Circati’s first goal in the Crociati shirt earned Parma a 1-1 draw. After the fans showed appreciation for each other in the stands, the game got off to a start. Pedrola broke the deadlock after 19 minutes with a lethal counterattack, however, Parma proceeded to unleash a barrage on the Sampdoria goal. The Crociati created a series of chances: in 26’ Benedyczak’s left-footed shot was tipped onto the bar by a flying Stankovic, 28’ Coulibaly’s header edged just wide, 40’ Sohm’s great chance was saved by the goalkeeper whilst Man’s follow-up was deflected for a corner. In the second half, the greatest chance fell to Partipilo who latched onto Chichizola’s long ball and attempted to lob the oncoming Stankovic but the Sampdoria keeper was equal to his effort. But it was Ansaldi’s beautiful cross straight onto the head of Alessandro Circati that finally led to Parma’s equaliser: the ball fell into the corner beyond Stankovic’s outstretched arms for 1-1, full-time.
