Parma, 30 June 2024 - Parma Calcio can announce that Valentin Mihaila has renewed his contract until 6 June 2027, with an option to extend for the 2027/2028 season.
Valentin's story with the Gialloblu began in the autumn of 2020, when he was bought from Universitatea Craiova.
He is an inside forward, who loves dribbling and making assists for his teammates. But he is also ready to help out in the defensive side of the game. In three and a half seasons with Parma Calcio, he has made 84 appearances (in Serie A, Serie B and the Coppa Italia), highlighting his qualities and skills: in the last three Serie B campaigns, only three forwards (born after 1 January 2000) have scored at least ten goals and provided at least five assists. Valentin is one of these three forwards (ten goals and six assists), along with Sebastiano Esposito (ten goals + six assists) and our very own Adrian Benedyczak (24 goals + five assists). Despite having some setbacks with injuries, Valentin has developed a strong connection to the Club, the city and the fans. Involved in the 2024 European Championship, together with his compatriot (and Gialloblu) Dennis Man, he has won 23 caps and scored four goals for Romania to date. And on Tuesday he will be involved in the round of 16 match against the Netherlands.
Last season was his best in terms of performance and output for Parma: Valentin was involved in eight goals (six goals and two assists), reaching the same numbers he had achieved in his two previous seasons together. Now, four years later, he returns to Serie A wearing the Parma shirt, a Serie A that Valentin strongly wanted to earn in these colours.
