Noceto, 19 December 2024 – In a match that was postponed on 8 December due to the weather, Parma Women finished 2024 with a narrow win over Arezzo. The game was decided by Zhanna Ferrario, who scored the only goal in the 59th minute and continued her brilliant form after also bagging against Brescia four days ago.
It was an even start to the match: both teams were compact and eager not to allow each other space to play in. The first real chance of the game arrived on the half-hour mark, when Ferrario struck the bar with a deflected strike from distance. In the latter stages of the first half, Rabot threatened with a powerful right-footed shot from outside the box, but it finished narrowly over. After the restart, the Gialloblu upped the tempo and came close through Rognoni, who was thwarted by the goalkeeper (50’). The opener arrived on the 59-minute mark: Rognoni picked out Ferrario, who calmly fired past Bartalini with her left foot. Colantuono’s girls went on the hunt for a second: in the 65th minute, Ferrario shot narrowly off target after being found by Rognoni. Six minutes later, Kajzba had a go with her left foot, but Bartalini made the save. With 78 minutes on the clock, Fierro was called into action, keeping out a header. In the closing stages, Parma came close to making it 2-0 on several occasions, with Kajzba posing a particular threat, but Bartalini was in fine form between the sticks.
It finished 1-0 to the Gialloblu, who have finished the year on top of the table, level with Ternana. Parma Women’s next match will be against the Umbrians on 12 January.
