WOMEN'S SERIE B, MATCHDAY 7 PARMA 5-2 TERNANA

Noceto, 12 November 2023 - Matchday 7 of the Women’s Serie A on Sunday 12 November 2023 on Pitch 1 at the ‘Il Noce’ sporting complex. Parma beat Ternana 5-2.

Coach Salvatore Colantuono named the same XI that started the 7-1 victory over Hellas Verona a week ago. The Crociate took the lead in the third minute: Sofia Kongouli picked out Caterina Ferin in the middle who half-volleyed it past Katia Ghioc (1-0). That was only the second goal of the season conceded by the Fere in the first seven matches.

Sofia Kongouli doubled the lead in the 22nd minute with a lightning break down the left from the Crociate that ended with Kongouli slotting it past Katia Ghioc (2-0)

Parma found their third in the 29th minute: Odette Kelly Gogo won the ball in the middle and played it to Caterina Ferin on the edge of the area: her precise diagonal effort beat the keeper for 3-0.

Ternana were awarded a penalty three minutes into the second half after the referee decided Elena Nichele fouled Valeria Pirone in the area. Sara Tui Rodriguez Gonzalez made no mistake from the spot and reduced the deficit to 3-1. Valeria Pirone received her second yellow card in the 54th minute after a foul on Veronica Benedetti, leaving Ternana with 10 players.

In the 25th minute, Parma found their fourth after a spectacular move through the middle of the pitch from Odette Kelly Gago. Sofia Kongouli headed home after Vivien Beil’s cross from the right (4-1).

Sara Tui Rodriguez Gonzalez beat two players in the area and found herself with just the keeper to beat. She finished past Eveljn Frigotto for 4-2.

Anastasia Spyridonidou scored almost as soon as she was substituted on for 5-2 in the first minute of injury time, sealing the win for the Crociate. Parma are up to 16 points whilst Ternana remain on 18.
