Parma, 15 July 2024 - Zion Suzuki is a Gialloblu!  Parma Calcio has officially announced the permanent signing of the goalkeeper from Sint-Truidense Voetbalvereniging, with a contract that runs until 30 June 2029.  

Zion, a Japanese international with American (born in Little Rock, Arkansas) and Ghanaian heritage, has represented two clubs in his career: Urawa Red Diamonds and Sint-Truidense Voetbalvereniging. He developed in the youth system of the Japanese club, turning professional in 2020. During this time, he played for all of Japan's youth national teams, and by 2022, at just 19 years old, he became a starter for the senior national team. In last season’s Jupiler Pro League, he made 32 appearances, showcasing his athleticism, character, and technical skills, which have established him on the global stage. 

Suzuki's statement: “I am Zion Suzuki, and I’m happy to be part of Parma Calcio 1913. I know this is a club with a great history, with many fans worldwide, and we will be playing in Serie A. For this reason, I will always strive to give my best and contribute to the team's success”.

Director of Sport Mauro Pederzoli's statement: “We pursued him strongly, but it was a long and complex negotiation. There was a lot of interest surrounding Zion, and he was highly sought after. In the end, both his desire and ours prevailed, leading to a mutual commitment to establish a lasting and fruitful relationship. Our happiness is doubled considering he is one of the youngest talents in his position, with significant experience gained in both Japan and Belgium. Today, we welcome him alongside the entire Gialloblu community, confident that he will receive a warm and beautiful welcome from the team and our fans”.
